Sync Interface by Axxess®. This interface allows you to retain the Ford Sync and RAP features when installing an aftermarket radio on Ford, Lincoln, or Mercury vehicles equipped with Sync telematics.
Notes: Sync Is Lost On Navigation Models
- Does not work in vehicles with factory navigation and THX Audio sound systems
- Supplies parking brake, reverse, and LSS outputs for aftermarket radios with built-in navigation
- Vehicles with OEM Navigation or THX audio sound systems are not supported
- If your vehicle is equipped with the Audiophile sound system, which includes the sub-woofer, you will need the Metra 70-5522 sub plug and the AFDI-5V 5 volt step down interface
Ford's Sync system is a marvel of connectivity, co-operating with your smart phone to provide a host of convenience and safety features right there on your dash. Problem: it doesn't play nice with aftermarket stereos, because its operation is so heavily integrated with the stereo's interface. Axxess' Sync interface allows you to upgrade the stereo while retaining Sync.
Axxess Integrate, a subsidiary of mobile audio's one-stop-shopping conglomerate Metra, is at the very forefront of the mobile audio installer's field. Their cutting-edge interfaces make adding to or installing a car stereo, nav system, sat radio or auxiliary amplifier easy. With the complexity of modern vehicles, it's not a simple operation to install aftermarket electronics that will properly interface with the car's wiring, onboard computers and OEM infotainment system. Axxess has it figured out and dialed in.
