Other trim levels (ES AWC, mid-range SE, and top-of-the-line SEL) are powered by a perkier 2.4-liter 168-hp inline-4 that is teamed with a CVT and all-wheel drive. The base model packs more standard features for 2017, including a rearview camera, alloy wheels, a 6.1'' touchscreen that previously came as an option, Bluetooth hands-free technology, and a 4-speaker audio system. What the Lancer really excels in is safety – it boasts good results in government crash tests. Antilock disc brakes and seven airbags are standard safety features. As for digital safety tech, traction and stability control systems are standard across the line.
