Square load bars can create irritating wind noise, which can be especially bothersome on long trips and the reason why Thule developed the AeroBlade load bar. But if you've got square load bars don't despair, because the Thule Fairing will quiet your ride and add aerodynamic style. The Thule Fairing attaches to the front load bar and rests on the roof of the vehicle, to prevent air from flowing between the roof and the load bar. The result is less drag and dramatically reduced wind noise.
The Thule Fairing attaches to Thule square or Rapid Aero Bars with rugged clips for a secure installation. The rigid support brackets ensure the fairing won't collapse or flap around. Foam pads attached to the bottom of the brackets rest on anti-scuff film that is attached to the vehicle roof, to prevent any damage to the vehicle's finish. And the fairing won't interfere with the installation of any Thule rack accessories, so you'll get all the Fairing's advantages and still be able to haul all your gear.
Each Thule Fairing comes complete with everything needed for installation, including detailed instructions. The limited lifetime warranty applies to the original purchaser of the product, and warrants the product against manufacturer's defects in materials or workmanship.
Note: The Thule Fairing is not compatible with the AeroBlade load bar.84.95Brand: Thule Part Number: 871XT UPC: 091021871984

Wish I had gotten the longer unit. Now my crossbars are too close together to fit the canoe. Haven't used the unit yet. But it seems to ride on the car nicely. The lid feels somewhat flimsy. Guess we shall see!Was this review helpful for you? YesNo(4.5)APPEARANCEEASE OF INSTALLATIONPRICE/VALUEQUALITYHigh-Quality Car Rack2013 Subaru Forester

I put these on my 2014 Forester. They fit well, and the installation was easy. When you buy a pair, they are sold as a front and rear pair, but the difference is not distinguishable and nothing on the package or in the enclosed instructions made note of this. I haven't noticed any increased noise, and I often drive with the roof open, so I think the aeroblade is a smart design. As far as roof racks go, they look nice and look like they will last a long time. Was this review helpful for you? YesNo
