The function of the hood deflector is to ricochet insects away from your windshield and hood. Besides being a functional accessory, it also gives your vehicle custom look. The AVS Bugflector II is made of impact-resistant acrylic that shields your hood and windshield from rocks, gravel and other debris. This custom-built application will perfectly fit your vehicle. No-drill installation is quick and easy, the accessory is mounted onto the hood with 3M tape or mechanical fasteners (depending upon the vehicle). In order to protect hood paint from rubbing, the set includes several bumpons, which are applied to the hood during the installation. Vehicle equipped with Bugflector II can be car-washed safely, unless it is automatic "brush-style" car wash. The accessory can be easily removed from the hood for simple cleaning. The set includes installation instructions and required hardware.

Most of the other sheilds out there are held on by double sided tape. Also 1st sheild was damaged in shipping, they immediately sent a replacement. You can always tell a good vendor by how they handle a problem and these guys did a great job!!!"

Ease of Installation Price/Value Quality "Installation didn't go as smoothly as it should have but that was more my fault for not tightening the well nut on the shield before affixing to the hood. The loose nut fell off inside the hood never to be found. I called CarID and the service advisor had a rep on the phone with me in short order and new parts in the mail. I couldn't ask for better service. I am very happy with the product and even more so with the service. "
