WeatherTech® - In-Channel Dark Smoke Side Window Deflectors

The fronts were hard to install without breaking the tip - this resulted in the back sagging slightly interfering with the operation of the window. I would probably not buy these again. Even had a dealer installer put them in, and he had the same problem.

Package arrived in just a few days after ordering. Deflectors were well packaged, so no complaints to this point. As others have pointed out, installation of the clips is a bear, but eventually they get into place - and using the flat edge end of the included tool helps considerably. Driver's side installed without a hitch. Window up and down 5 times as directed. No binding, no hangups. Closed window and left it. Passenger side installed without a hitch. Wndow up and down 5 times as directed. No binding, no hangups. Closed window and left it. Car sat in the sun for two days untouched - temps were in the mid to upper 90's. Should have been sufficient time for the adhesive on the strips to set up. Went into the city, about a 30 minute drive each way on the interstate. Got back to the house and the driver's side deflector is no where in sight. Clips are in position, window gasket is in place. Window had left all the way up and not touched for 2 days. Footnote: With the deflectors installed and the window down but not below the bottom edge of the deflector, there is an open space along the back vertical edge of the window that will allow rain, dust, etc. in. WeatherTech engineers might want to take a look at their design for the Venza. That was a quick waste of $50!!!

The fronts are great and easy to install. The only thing I think they need to stress in the instructions is to keep your windows closed for 12 hours after install...this isn't stressed in the instructions, and I think it should be. The rear window deflectors, however, are a different story. Who decided the clips were a good idea and easy to install? The instructions are horrible, the instructional video makes it look easy (and it's not), and I spent hours trying to get them installed properly. After about three hours, struggling and searching the internet, I discovered that if you use the tool provided, but flip it upside down and put between the clip and the rubber seal, the clip will slide right into place and this was from trial and error. When the clip is seated properly, you will definitely know. Trust me, your thumbs will thank you!
