2009 Ford F-150 Door Sills

Installing is not as easy as they say, they make it look really simple in the YouTube videos, but don't let that fool you. I took mine to the Ford dealership here in town to have them installed and they to ran into problems. You can't mount the new sills over the existing door sills because the door rubs across them so that part of the sill needs to be cut off to make them fit. The other problem was getting them wired in. YouTube says its a red wire, instructions say a purple wire, well it's none of them. And last but least, after he got them wired in the dome lights quit working. He said since the dome lights run through the microprocessor it sensing to much power draw and shuts down the domes. The only solution we can come up with is to install its own power supply with a pressure switch. I'm sure by the time this is all done the insulation is going to cost me more than the sills which were a pretty penny themselves.
