The Retain Short Ram Air Intake System replaces your restrictive factory air intake system with a large, free flowing high performance Pro DRY S air filter and a mandrel-bent aluminum air intake tube. This system will dramatically increase airflow compared to the stock system, with resulting gains in horsepower and torque. You'll get improved performance you can feel. And this system looks so great; you'll quickly get into the habit of popping the hood to show it off!
The improvement starts with the Pro DRY S air filter, which combines high airflow and filtration efficiency with the convenience of oil-free maintenance. It contains 2 layers of randomly porous synthetic fabric, which allows approximately twice the airflow when compared to a typical stock air filter. The increased airflow results in more horsepower and torque, better throttle response and more miles per gallon. But this improved airflow and performance hasn't been gained at the expense of engine protection: the Pro DRY S has an excellent 99.2% filtration efficiency rating. The pleats in the filter are evenly spaced for greater dust holding capacity and the tips are rounded for better airflow. They're also 30% deeper than comparable aftermarket air filters for longer service intervals and greater dust holding capacity.
A specially developed 3-angle velocity stack smoothes the airflow transition from the air filter to the mandrel-bent aluminum intake tube. Unlike factory air intake tubes that have sound baffles and make awkward bends, the Takeda intake tube is designed to give the engine less restrictive breathing, incorporating larger diameters and smooth bends. The end result is the maximum possible airflow velocity. The intake tube is available in anodized black or polished clear-coat finish to add style to your engine bay.
The Retain Short Ram Air Intake System comes with everything needed for installation, including all couplers, hardware, and detailed instructions. Some systems include a black powder coated heat shield, to help isolate the air filter from engine heat and allow it to take in cooler air. The Retain system fits completely under the hood, so installation can be completed in usually 45 minutes or less. This system is backed by a 2-year limited warranty.179.00

I got this to replace my intake system on my 2008 Honda Civic SI. 1) My car runs smoother by far. (I had discovered that I bought my car with a ton of holes throughout the stock intake). It runs cleaner and I definitely notice a change in power. 2) It frees up a good amount of room in the engine bay which is a positive for me, because I can access my firewall easier in case I need to run some wires. 3) The sound it adds makes the car feel like something else. Low RPM pedal to the floor brings out that growl. It's great, definitely worth getting. When V-tech kicks in also, goodness, like I said it feels like a new car.Was this review helpful for you? YesNo
