Wiring for your trailer can be as simple as plugging in a premade harness to your truck’s rear lights, totally brainless. If you aren’t fortunate enough to have a truck that we have a t-harness for, well, you may have to splice some wires, no big deal. I probably could've installed it a lot quicker, but I'm picky with wire runs and took my time to run the wires so they are hidden and neat. My recommendation and caution is make sure your ground point is solid and clean for proper connection.

If reinstalling the sound shield, you can cut a smaller hole to fit the hitch thru, but don't bolt up till after you bolt up the hitch, and you will get a better looking job. That way you'll get a 4-8 inch hole.

I followed the online video for installation and the hardest part ended up being placing the hitch on the frame with only two hands. With my wife's 2 minutes of help to hold up the hitch to the frame, we actually had the job done in less than an hour from start to finish. Great item.
