3rd Brake Lights, also known as the Center High Mounted Stop Lamp (CHMSL) are positioned high on the vehicle to attract attention, alerting drivers behind you when you’re braking. But if your 3rd brake has incandescent bulbs your CHMSL can be improved. LEDs are particularly suited to 3rd brake light applications. Their small compact size makes them easy to group together, and when assembled in this manner, are more luminous than comparable incandescent bulbs; the brighter the light the more visible your vehicle becomes. And they rise to full intensity approximately 200 milliseconds (0.2 seconds) faster than incandescent bulbs, or about 10 times faster. This may not sound like a lot, but it may be all the time that’s needed for the driver behind you to see your brake lights and react to avoid a potential accident.
Bright LED lights will make your vehicle more conspicuous.

As if the safety factor wasn’t enough, these LEDs are housed in an attractive housing that will make a stylish upgrade to your vehicle’s appearance. And those LED lights are extremely durable, with an average lifespan of 50,000-75,000 hours, which means you can forget about ever having to replace them. LEDs are also extremely vibration resistant, an ideal quality for a light mounted on a motor vehicle.
Every Spyder light undergoes a rigorous testing and quality control process before it leaves the factory. All wiring is tested to make sure the light is completely functional, and the housing is sealed with high quality silicone to ensure that no moisture can become trapped inside. Spyder lights are approved by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), and ISO-9000 and ISO-9002 certified. They meet all U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and are compliant with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 108.
