The frames of the BakBoards are made in heavy-duty aluminum, combining light weight and extreme strength. These running boards are designed to hold 500 lb each. The boards are mounted on stainless steel brackets, again a top-notch choice of material to keep your board installation free from corrosion, making the running boards last and look good for many years. The BakBoards mount on brackets that are designed to a custom fit for your specific vehicle. This ensures a very easy installation, with little or no drilling required. The BakBoards are set at a perfect height, giving you a comfortable step-up into your vehicle. The stepping area is 6" wide and slip-proof, providing extra comfort and safety compared to most other running boards. The boards come in black only, matching original black trim on your vehicle, but they can easily be painted to match the color of your truck. If you want the added elegance of a perfect color match to the body of your truck, we suggest that you turn them in to your local body shop for painting before you install them. This is fairly inexpensive, as the boards don't even need prepping before being painted. The boards are also prepared for installation of step-in lights (sold separately), for extra safety, convenience and style. The BakBoard OE Style Running Boards are available in several lengths to fit every style of pickup truck cab.
