Running boards looking great on my truck, those factory chrome step bars are for looks, my grandkids love these new boards. Had these on a previous GMC and I new these would make my truck look top notch. Quality of materials is outstanding, packaging was excellent, carrier tore package during transit but everything was good to go, thank you, C.Blakey.

Westin Sure Grip Running Boards 98 Suburban
Product looks great and strong on my 98 Suburban. It did take me 6 hrs to put them on and I am not a novice. These are not direct mounted. They have two anchoring points for the mounting brackets . The top one goes in a wedge pattern from floor pan weld and is pinched with downward force. The second anchoring point is along the rocker panel. These points have to be drilled with a very small drill because the frame gets in the way then I used an air ratchet to put the bolts in loosely. The drivers side easier then the passenger side so please start with this side. Unhook the emergency brake cable will help with room. Do not go by the instructions for placement of the brackets. The first one ( behind front wheel } in the instructions is to far back. Spread the first three out on the front floor pan weld evenly spaced, and two on the rear weld evenly spaced. Now the passenger side. This is where the fuel and brake lines run along the rocker panel and its very difficult to work around them to get the second anchoring points on, but it can be done. take your time and leave a full day to do it. They really do look great and I get lots of complements.
