GMC Canyon 3.5L L5 F/I 2004-2006, 77 Series High-Flow Performance Air Intake Kit by K&N®. This intake kit is designed for the larger engines typically found in trucks and SUVs. The big "deep breathing" engine in your truck or SUV needs a 77 Series High-Flow Performance Air Intake Kit to unleash all of its power. The kit starts with an oversized conical high-flow K&N air filter, installed in place of the restrictive factory airbox. The large increase in filter area over the stock airbox filter results in a huge increase in airflow and a greater capacity to capture and hold dirt.
The increased airflow continues with a free-flowing mandrel-bent aluminum intake tube in place of the factory air path. The intake tube is available in several finishes. Most kits also include a heat shield that seals against the hood and isolates the filter from engine heat. The reduction in air intake temperature results in a cooler, denser air intake charge and even more horsepower. All components are mounted and connected with high quality materials such as steel, aluminum, silicon or reinforced nylon, to ensure long life.
K&N uses a dynamometer to design its air intake kits to make the most horsepower possible. But their power figures aren't based on just one vehicle, but rather an average of runs by a number of vehicles. This means repeatable numbers and horsepower claims you can count on.

The installer was very high on the product - "best I have seen, easy to install, and I particularly like the design that encloses the intake and avoids most of the dust and debris coming from country roads."

After 2,000 RPM when you hit the gas pedal you know it's working. No hesitation, definite increase in horsepower and torque. Also installed a Poweraid Throttle Body Spacer right after and noticed another increased difference.

K&N Gen II Intake for GMC YukonDecember 22, 2011 | Posted by Michael R. | 1999 GMC Yukon (Aurora, CO)I purchased the intake about three weeks ago for my '99 Yukon. The kit is well designed and the components seem high quality. I am pleased with the fit and finish of this intake. As for the install, I took my time and had it together and in the truck after about an hour. The instructions are straightforward, however, the images were terrible. Two steps in the install were made more difficult because the parts orientation can not be made out from the pictures. On the first test drive I noticed I could hear the engine, whereas it was previously quiet. The sound to me is pleasing and satisfying to my ear. Also, there is a cool "TCHAHH" sound when I 'blip' the throttle. the "seat of the pants" dyno detected noticeable throttle response and a bit torquier launch off the line from the old truck. Simultaneously, I did replace the plugs, wires, cap, and rotor; so the combo with the intake was substantial. Importantly, my MPG are up 2-4 MPG on mixed city/highway driving (with snow and 4 wheel drive in Colorado). I bought this product from CarID because their cost was about 60% of competitors, which made all the difference to me. As I'm a long time K&N user, I would definitely buy this product again, especially at such a great price. I am fully satisfied with my experience.

Great part.October 10, 2011 | Posted by Ryan M. | 2008 GMC Yukon (Wauwatosa, WI)I was looking for something for my 2008 Yukon to help with pulling a boat and a little better mileage. I instantly found this new in-take to add power and smoothness to the exceleration. It was easy to install. The tech advisor said I would see 2 to 3 mileage increase (which I know is a long stretch). I did see about 1 mpg increase on highway driving. I know it will take a couple tanks for adjustment, plus I am going to have it tuned-up to see if that helps. Pulling the 20' boat was no problem.
