Even if the Injen IS Series Short Ram is a classical "underhood" intake system, don't think it possesses less performance than other Injen intakes. The IS Series is a creation of the same meticulous product development and testing as all other Injen's products. The air intake tube is crafted from the 6061-T6 aluminum alloy for durability and light weight. INJENŽ SP Series Cold Air Intake System - 2.4LMay 23, 2011 | Posted by Mike I. | 2007 Honda Element (Newark, CA)I installed the Injen SP 1727P on my 2007 Honda Element SC. I'm no mechanic and found the installation very straight forward. The black & white copied instructions were actually hard to see as the pictures are small. I used the PDF from CARID's product page for this CAI. I wear glasses and the PDF is easy to enlarge and the color pictures makes it easier to understand. The parts seem to be made very well. I found metal burns on the inside of a short ram CAI I installed on my 1996 Integra GSR from AEM. The Injen CAI looked smooth and well finished. It is engineered very well to fit in the engine bay and feels solidly bolted down when installed. The only thing that wasn't in the instructions was a warning that the throttle body coolant line will leak when unhooked. A rubber cork would have been handy. Not a big deal, as I only lost about a cup of coolant. The Injen badge or sticker on the intake does seem a bit cheap. It would have been nice as a stamped piece of aluminum or etched on the tube itself. Overall, the fit and finish I feel is excellent. I do wish it was a less costly but am very happy with it. I have only had the unit install for 2 days now and hope it lasts the life of the car. Mike
