The K&N 57 Series Generation II Air Intake Kit improves intake airflow from the air filter all the way to the throttle body. The system starts with the world famous K&N high flow air filter. K&N uses the largest conical shaped air filter that will fit in the engine compartment. The large increase in filter area over the stock airbox filter results in a huge increase in airflow and a greater capacity to capture and hold dirt.
The filter is attached to a precision molded intake tube that connects the filter to the throttle body. The tube is precisely designed to reduce turbulence and accelerate airflow into the engine. The rotationally molded intake tube is made from interlaced high density Polyethylene, reducing intake air temperature from similar metal tubes. Intake air temperature is further reduced by a heat shield that isolates the filter from the engine compartment. The reduction in air intake temperatures results in a cooler, denser air intake charge and even more horsepower.
K&N uses a dynamometer to design its air intake kits to make the most horsepower possible. But their power figures aren't based on just one vehicle, but rather an average of runs by a number of vehicles. This means repeatable numbers and horsepower claims you can count on.
Every 57 Series Generation II Air Intake Kit comes complete with everything necessary for installation, including comprehensive installation instructions. All adapters are manufactured from high quality materials such as steel, aluminum, silicon or reinforced nylon, to ensure long life. The K&N filter can go up to 100,000 miles before cleaning is required. And the K&N air filter is guaranteed for one million miles.

Ease of Installation Price/Value Quality "I recently bought a Chevy Cruze, and wanted to add a few more mpg's so I purchased the K & N intake for it to help it out. It performed well, and I also received about 3 mpg for city driving and on the highway I boosted an average of 4 more mpg's. This was driving at posted speed limits and keeping the foot out of it also. I was impressed with it and also loved hearing the turbo more."

That means that over time the unit will "pay for itself". Considering fuel prices, how much of purchase a decision is that? You can "feel" the immediate response to the increase in horsepower upon acceleration as well. The information provided stated that the unit would provide an additional 14 horsepower and again, that's obvious as well. A great product and worth the investment!"
