Volvo C70 Coupe 1998-2002, Class 2 Concealed Black Rear Trailer Hitch Receiver with Euro Insert with 1-7/8" Ball (122111) by CURT®. The Weight Carrying Capacity is 3500 lbs, while the Tongue Weight is 350 lbs, and the Receiver Tube Size is 1-1/4". These trailer hitches allow the use of equalizing hitches to transfer excess tongue weight to the front axle of the vehicle. You can also get a removable ball mount. This means the hitch ball and its ball mount can be removed and stowed when not trailering. A hitch receiver is also a handy place to mount a bicycle rack, cargo carrier or other receiver-mounted accessory. A receiver-mounted winch or step are good examples.

If your vehicle already has a factory-mounted hitch receiver, it may not be rated to tow the trailer you’d like to. Bearing in mind the Gross Trailer Weight (GTW) rating of your vehicle, you may wish to upgrade the OEM receiver with one of higher capacity. Choose between a "hidden" receiver that lurks right under the bumper, or a hitch receiver that sets lower to the ground and allows the use of a ball mount with less drop.

It was easy to install and the ends have nice factory style connectors, so you can just plug them into the existing connectors (vs splicing the wires in like some other brands do). I did have to cut and splice the yellow wire because it came up short, but it may have been due to where I attached the box and/or where I routed the wires (not a big deal either way). If you splice any wires, I recommend you solder or crimp the splice and then apply liquid electrical tape and shrink tubing over that. I was pleased with this product.

I recommend you go a ½ copper tube fitting brush to clean out the thread holes (or a similar small wire brush). Once I got the brush and cleaned out the holes in the frame, the installation went smooth. I’m pleased with my purchase.

The powdercoat even has a metal flake in it that makes it looks very high quality. The only negative was trying to get the adhesive off after removing the manufacturer's ugly sticker.
