Your OEM air induction system restricts and reduces airflow to your engine because the factory system must compromise between intake noise, underhood space and engine airflow requirements. Flow is initially restricted by the small, OEM-type air filter in the factory airbox, and then airflow is further restricted by the OEM air tube. To improve power and fuel mileage, replace your factory system with one that's first and foremost designed for performance.
The Volant Cool Air Intake Kit starts with the washable and reusable Pro 5 air filter. The Pro 5 filter is constructed of high grade cotton filter media with 5 layers of protection. It reduces air restriction and increases engine output by using precision pleat geometry that optimizes airflow throughout the intake system.
Airflow advances from the filter through Volant's Cross-Link polyethylene air duct. Unlike OEM air ducts that have sound baffles and make awkward bends, the Volant air duct is sculptured to give the engine less restrictive breathing, incorporating larger diameters and unique bends that can't be duplicated with metal ducts. The result is maximum airflow velocity and quicker throttle response.
Every Volant Cool Air Intake Kit comes complete with everything necessary for installation, including comprehensive installation instructions. All clamps and connectors are made from quality materials. The Silicone connectors provide flexibility while maintaining strength and thermal stability; they won't crack or deform over time like rubber connectors. The marine-grade stainless steel clamps provide a solid seal that won't loosen or deteriorate.

Holes for the MAF matched great, all the hardware included in package, instructions could be step by step but pretty easy to figure out. Product looks great in the engine compartment. Now engine has a nice rumble to it when accelerating you can hear the air being sucked into the engine. Truck has more power in the upper rpm range. Great product!"

Volant's website states that these scoops come equipped with baffles or drain holes for water. The scoop I received had neither. I just drilled two small holes in the lowest point of the assembly to allow water to drain. Nice addition if you're looking for a little extra horsepower at top end."

The installation went pretty well, but Volant could do a better job in their instructions; nevertheless, if you know your way around a car engine, you should have no trouble putting in the Volant system. Word of advice -- you will need to remove the windshield fluid reservoir to get access to the stock air box (which is not hard to do and you don't need to remove the supply hoses; simply remove the two set screws for the reservoir and the two electrical connection and voila! off it comes.) The Volant's construction is EXCELLENT...everything fits together very nicely and is far better constructed than the stock air box. The sound is simply amazing and the acceleration is tremendous. You won't be disappointed! Another word of advice - if you're thinking of adding the optional RAM air scoop, then install it at the same time as the main CAI. If you install it later, you will have to disassemble the air box to get access to the lower intake port."
