Honda Civic 1.6L 4 Cyl. 1999-2000, RD Series Cold Air Intake System by InjenŽ. The RD Series is made for the enthusiast who wants improved mid-range power. This cold air system positions a high-flow air filter behind the bumper, where it can take in cooler, denser air. The cool air then flows to the engine through a fee-flowing aluminum alloy intake tube. Cooler air contains more oxygen for more complete combustion and more horsepower.
Features:
It's a well known fact that cooler, denser air contains more oxygen, and more oxygen in your engine's air intake charge means better combustion and more power. Hot air contains fewer oxygen molecules, and if your engine is fed hot air there will be less oxygen and therefore less power. Yet that's exactly what your engine gets with the factory air intake system! The solution to this problem is to install an Injen RD Series Cold Air Intake System.
Injen starts the power improvement process by positioning an Injen High Performance air filter behind the front bumper. Here, this free-flowing filter can take in the coolest air possible and funnel it through smooth, mandrel-bent 6061 aluminum alloy tubing. Injen designs and repeatedly tests its systems for each application to make sure they're the least restrictive, all the way to the throttle body. So, instead of power-robbing hot air squeezing through a restrictive air filter and intake duct, your engine is taking in huge quantities of cool air surging through free-flowing tubing. The result is increased horsepower and torque, and improved performance you can feel!
The RD system is carefully engineered, with CNC machined brackets and adapters, to ensure an exact fit. Installation can be accomplished with simple hand tools and everything necessary for installation is supplied, including comprehensive instructions. The RD Series Cold Air Intake System is backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty.
Injen Technology Company, Ltd., based in Pomona, California, was formed as a sister company to RD Metal Works in 1998, to utilize the experience and design capabilities that RD Metal Works had gained designing and manufacturing air intake kits for leading air filter and intake manufacturers. Since that time, the company has made it a point to stay at the forefront of performance technology, continually setting new standards for quality and improving their engineering and manufacturing capabilities. This enables Injen to regularly introduce new, cutting edge products to market and has required the company to continually expand to meet the demand for those products. Today, Injen continues to set the industry benchmark for innovation, styling and technology.

I have a 2000 Civic DX Coupe. The intake went in place of just a filter sitting on the throttle body. Now my engine isn't just getting hot air, and it sounds much better. Just don't expect massive horsepower or performance gains out of your single cam non V-tec. Overall fit and finish are excellent and I would buy the product again.

Installed this intake on my 2004 Honda civic coupe. It was fairly easy to get on. Took less then 30 minutes. The sound of the car is a lot better and you do notice a slight increase in power.

After installing my new cold air intake, I took my 2009 Civic out for a spin. The power did not drop off as early. A bit of air noise comes with full acceleration. Removing the air intake muffler is part of the installation. Pulling the left front wheel lets you partially remove the front inner fender, giving access to the area where the new filter will be. The instructions show the car with the bumper removed, but do not tell you how to go about it.
