1997 Honda Prelude Custom Hoods

I was skeptical on this one, with a lot of out dated VIS hood reviews, mediocre pictures, and no product specific description. However, I was rather pleased. Firstly, it fits very well, no gaps larger than stock; it takes a little finessing to have it perfectly symmetrical, but not any more than I'd expect from a stock hood. The carbon weave is tightly woven, and nicely consistent. It weights about 28 lbs, while the stock comes in at about 42 lbs. So about 2/3 of the stock weight. The NACA ducts are functional and have screens in front of them. Unfortunately, some of the inlet leads into the space between the top and bottom portion of the hood, so some of that ram air is lost. That could hypothetically be corrected with some custom work. The heat vents also have screens over them. That weird black crap that covers the underside of the heat vent is what I assume as a water trap, but can be removed via a few allen screws. Also the screens could be a little more neatly mounted on the underside, but that's incredible minimal, and they look great on the topside. Overall, I'm very content with the purchase. I would likely recommend VIS to anyone looking for a carbon fiber hood.
