Chevy Impala 1996, Rear by Air Lift®. Load Support Air Springs are sets of two adjustable secondary air springs that help existing springs maintain a level ride, proper handling, and safety when weighed down by heavy loads. For lighter vehicles with coil springs, choose the Air Lift1000. For medium weight trucks with leaf springs, the RideCONTROLL kit supports up to 2,000 pounds. And for heavy-duty pickups, RVs, or commercial vehicles that carry the most weight, the Load Lifter 5000 kit supports up to 5,000 pounds. Air spring pressure can be manually adjusted between 5 and 100 psi typically.

The suspension of any pickup, van, or mobile home that’s weighed down by heavy cargo, permanently affixed equipment, or a trailer is compromised because the rear springs are crushed down to a height they cannot recover from. Ride quality is reduced, and the front of your vehicle points upward. A rear end that is weighed down literally lifts weight off your front wheels, reducing the amount of traction you have for steering and reducing grip the tires have on the road when you need it in fast braking. After enough time, weighed-down springs sag permanently and the effect becomes even worse.
Whether you’ve got a compact pickup truck or large mobile home, Air Lift offers Air Spring support kits that are tailored to your individual needs. For smaller vehicles with coil springs, the Air Lift 1000™ air springs mount inside the center of your vehicle’s original springs to raise 1,000 pounds to proper ride height. For larger pickups and vans with leaf springs, Air Lift’s RideCONTROLL kit mounts a set of air springs between leaf spring and vehicle frame on each side, adding 2,000 pounds of load leveling capacity. And for commercial vehicles based on light truck or van platforms with heavy hauling needs, the LoadLifter5000 Air Springs supports a maximum of 5,000 pounds per axle. Kits come with necessary brackets and hardware for easy mounting along with easy-connect air lines for manual inflation. While air compressors are not included in these kits, Air Lift also has a selection of pumps that allow power adjustment of your springs automatically, or with the touch of a button.
Founded in 1949 in Lansing, Michigan, Air Lift® pioneered the first rubber air bladder that fit inside coil springs to give pickups and other transport vehicles greater load-leveling and ride-stabilizing abilities. These found wide acceptance on commercial vehicles and were soon adopted throughout NASCAR and other professional stock car racing series after assisting many drivers to achieve victorious finishes. Over the decades, Air Lift® has continued to pioneer innovative developments with air spring helpers and stand-alone air springs for mobile homes, ambulances, and heavy trucks. During the 1990s, the company was on the cutting edge – developing high-performance air springs and complete air suspension systems that allowed extreme lowering, stunts, and higher levels of handling during aggressive driving. Today, Air Lift® is ISO 9001:2008 certified for best business practices, manufacturing, and customer satisfaction and their range of high-quality products is widely respected throughout the industry. CARiD offers the Air Lift® full lineup of full air suspension kits, coil spring helpers, air springs, compressors, air tanks, and more at prices that can’t be beat.
