Replace the original-equipment Y-pipe connecting your exhaust manifolds to the catalytic converter with a fresh piece made from 304 stainless instead of cheap aluminized or 400-grade steel. The large-diameter tubing and its smooth mandrel bends will flow exhaust better than the original pipe with all of its kinks and diameter changes.

High-quality 304 austenitic stainless steel is used throughout, so your Borla exhaust system will never corrode or rust. Other manufacturers, including the car manufacturers fabricate so-called stainless exhaust systems out of less-expensive 400-series steel. Although 400-series steel is superior to ordinary aluminized mild steel, it can still develop ugly surface corrosion and eventually deteriorate. Professional installation is recommended, because of the necessity of working underneath the vehicle.
