Chevy C10 Suburban / K10 Suburban 1985-1986, 40 Series Original Aluminized Steel Muffler by Flowmaster®, AGGRESSIVE SOUND, 2.25" Offset Inlet / 2.25" Offset Outlet, 4" Thick x 9.75" Wide x 13" Case Length x 19" Overall Length. This is the muffler that launched the success of Flowmaster. It is an aggressive sounding street/strip muffler that delivers the famous powerful “Flowmaster Sound”. If you really want to hear that great muscle car tone both inside and outside the vehicle, this is the muffler for you.
Features:
The Super 40 Series mufflers are designed for the true performance enthusiasts. The flexibility and control offered by the unique Flowmaster technology has been used to build a muffler specifically for high horsepower road cars. The exterior sound has the exciting tone of a true-blooded racing engine, but subdued to legal limits. As even the most enthusiastic performance engine fan tires from constant high sound volume, the Flowmaster technology also has been used to tune the resonance sounds that reach the interior of the vehicle to a comfortable level, allowing the performance car driver to enjoy the racing music for hours on end without strain.
All Flowmaster mufflers are tuned for maximum performance. All Flowmaster mufflers produce a beautiful deep performance tone. Choosing the right Flowmaster muffler is not a technical decision – it is all up to your personal taste. It’s A Sound Decision®.
Flowmaster mufflers differ in technology and tuning, and thus in tone and character, to give your performance engine a sound to your personal liking.
Flowmaster mufflers employ two unique technologies developed by the company; the patented Delta Flow and the Laminar Flow. They give different characters of sound and can be tuned to achieve the desired exhaust note. Flowmaster Exhaust System Technology is so versatile, and gives such a high degree of control, that it is used both by racers, who want maximum power, and by the U.S. Air Force in Stealth applications where maximum silence and minimum heat emissions are prime considerations. Be it for a domestic or import truck, SUV, off-road warrior, daily driver, muscle car, euro-spec cruiser or sport compact vehicle, Flowmaster always has the right muffler for you.
Flowmaster® has its roots in solving the engine noise problems encountered by California racers in the 1980s. In 1983 Flowmaster’s founder, Ray Flugger, created his first patented design of racing silencers, which dampened noise with minimal loss of power. Ray attached handles to ease carrying the square shaped race mufflers through the race pits, and the mufflers became known as the "suitcase mufflers." Today, the innovative Flowmaster mufflers are the result of years of development with top race engine builders, thousands of hours of dyno research and "real-world" on-track testing.

This exhaust system was put on my 2012 Camaro SS Convertible. It sounds awesome. Not too loud with the top down and doesn't drown out the radio. Really great sound without being annoying.

Ordered this exhaust system for my 2013 Tahoe. Had my local mechanic install and had them tack weld it as well. Sounds so good, I'm loving it! Highly recommend!

I enjoyed the look and I've noticed the a slight deeper tone. Beats the Magnaflow. The left side hanger measurement is off, but I'm sure that's manufacturing issue. Installation is a bit tricky when putting on all the pipe clamps. Overall, its a great looking product, just not the best sounding out there. And perhaps, the pipe tips could stick out a bit further.

I had this exhaust system installed at an exhaust shop for under $150. The mechanic that worked on it had nothing but good things to say about it and that the kit came with everything he needed. He did say that a brake line had to be slightly moved, but that it was no big deal at all. As far as the sound goes, the video on this website does do it justice...but just like in the video, it could be just a little louder (it is definitely loud enough and cool sounding enough that it will turn some heads, but for sure no one will be plugging their ears). Overall, great price, great product, and great sound....just what I wanted! (Exhaust was installed on a 2008 Chevy Avalanche z71 LTZ).

I purchased the axle-back American thunder kit, aggressive sound level for my 2011 Camaro and I gotta tell ya this is the way to go. The sound is great and you are still able to maintain the needed back pressure. The price is GREAT and when I took them to my local exhaust guy he told me that was what he paid for them. Flowmasters are it!
