Ford F-150 4.9L 1980-1986, 220 Series Stainless Steel Standard Duty Oval Catalytic Converter by FlowmasterŽ, 2.25" Inlet / 2.25" Outlet, 14" Length. The new Flowmaster replacement catalytic converters are made to meet and exceed all federal environmental regulations and, as all Flowmaster products, to deliver the best possible performance. The shells are made in stainless steel, and the catalytic components meet or exceed the legal requirements.
Note: Flowmaster Replacement Catalytic Converters are not available for sale or use on vehicles registered in or operated in the state of California.
Flowmaster, the masters of performance mufflers and exhaust systems since 30 years, have decided to also offer street legal, high quality, replacement catalytic converters to the market. The catalytic converters are engineered for long life and reliable performance. When you install a Flowmaster Catalytic Converter you avoid the irritation that low quality converters can cause by frequently lighting up the MIL symbol on your dash, requiring equally frequent service appointments to check the codes and make the relevant adjustments. The Flowmaster converters are engineered and built in the U.S.A., using only first grade materials, to the high quality standard required to get the Flowmaster trademark stamped into the casing.
The outer shells are made in stainless steel of the highest automotive grade. The interiors of the converters feature strata that carry catalytic substrates with high loads of noble metals, making sure that the converters perform to exceed the USEPA standards. The strata themselves are of OEM or higher quality, ensuring that they last and can endure the vibrations and stress even in hard driving conditions. As Flowmaster is the master of gas flow, you can also rest assured that the exhaust gases flow through the converters with minimum possible restrictions for maximum possible performance. If and when you need to replace your catalytic converter, get a converter with the Flowmaster stamp. There is no better.
FlowmasterŽ has its roots in solving the engine noise problems encountered by California racers in the 1980s. In 1983 Flowmasters founder, Ray Flugger, created his first patented design of racing silencers, which dampened noise with minimal loss of power. Ray attached handles to ease carrying the square shaped race mufflers through the race pits, and the mufflers became known as the "suitcase mufflers." Today, the innovative Flowmaster mufflers are the result of years of development with top race engine builders, thousands of hours of dyno research and "real-world" on-track testing.

I got my muffler in good timing, had it put on. Sounds good! I have a TV in my truck, and while driving, I do not hear it in the cab. A great muffler, a little more torque. Haven t tried top end yet.
CARiD.com was absolutely superb in helping me find the correct exhaust. It has a clean rumble and it fits perfectly in my brand new 2013 4-door ford f-150, just like they said it would.
I have been wanting to put this baby on my f150, then I bought it! At a good price! Shipping was fast and man!, when I put this on... OMG! She now purrs like a flying Lion!!! Thanks, guys.
I purchased these a couple months ago, but waited to write a review. I must say they are simply amazing on my Ford F-150 XTR truck, they sound mean, and have a deep growl. Took my buddy about hour and half to install. I noticed more power at the take off now. I just bought them mainly for the sound, I am not a ''stop an floor it'' kind of driver, but they are 10/10 on every aspect!
The installation was relatively smooth with the exception that the clamps just didn't seem to want to tighten enough to hold the system in place. I bought some regular 2.5" and 3" exhaust clamps and they worked much better than the clamps supplied with the kit. I had to fabricate some hangars because I already had an aftermarket exhaust on the truck and had pitched some of the stock hangar mounts. All in all, a great product and a good fit.
Exactly what I was looking for in a stainless tip! It adds the finishing touch to the factory pipe. Installation was very easy and only took a minute - I am confident that the retaining clamp will hold in place securely.
