All Flowmaster exhaust systems give the same improvement of performance. All Flowmaster exhaust systems produce a beautiful deep performance tone. Choosing between the five different exhaust systems is not a technical decision – it is all up to your personal taste. It’s A Sound Decision™. The racing origin is evident in every Flowmaster exhaust system. All the five series of systems are tuned for maximum performance. They differ in technology and tuning, and thus in tone and character, giving you a performance engine sound to your personal liking.
Flowmaster exhaust systems employ two unique technologies, the patented Delta Flow and the Laminar Flow. They give different characters of sound and can be tuned to achieve the desired exhaust note. Flowmaster Exhaust System Technology is so versatile and gives such a high degree of control that it is used both by racers, who want maximum power, and by the U.S. Air Force in Stealth applications, where maximum silence and minimum heat emissions are prime considerations.
Be it for a domestic or import truck, SUV, off-road warrior, daily driver, muscle car, euro-spec cruiser or sport compact vehicle, Flowmaster technicians personally hand select the right muffler, tubing size, resonator, and tip to make the process easy for you. Best of all, Flowmaster stainless steel exhaust systems are covered by a Limited Lifetime Warranty; ensuring that your exhaust will last as long as you own your vehicle. If you choose aluminized steel products, Flowmaster backs them up with a 3-year warranty.679.00Brand: Flowmaster Part Number: 817390 UPC: 700042027385
Flowmaster® has its roots in solving the engine noise problems encountered by California racers in the 1980s. In 1983 Flowmaster’s founder, Ray Flugger, created his first patented design of racing silencers, which dampened noise with minimal loss of power. Ray attached handles to ease carrying the square shaped race mufflers through the race pits, and the mufflers became known as the "suitcase mufflers." Today, the innovative Flowmaster mufflers are the result of years of development with top race engine builders, thousands of hours of dyno research and "real-world" on-track testing.Flowmaster® - American Thunder™ Header-Back Exhaust System - Dual Rear Exit Reviews (10)

I had a mechanic install these for me the other day. And they seem to work very well. There is a smell but that is expected. To replace these with OEM parts was going to be about $1,200 bucks. I was charged $150 to have them put on! So, for half the price and installed, I think that was a good deal! Thank you, CARiD!Was this review helpful for you? So many companies try to imitate the Flowmaster original 40 Series. They mostly fall short and you are stuck with the disappointment. The price at CARiD is the most reasonable I found, and the product is the best, especially for American Muscle. Was this review helpful for you? I bought this for my 2011 Charger RT. Installation was super easy. Sounds great, I feel a difference in performance and I got a 2 MPG increase. Overall, I give it 4/5.Was this review helpful for you? Great experience with CARiD and the exhaust is perfect. Put it on a SRT Charger and the car literally screams now! Flowmaster is one of the loudest and most open systems, so you really get the aggressive sound and performance! This is a definite win product and just makes a huge V8 sound like it should! Was this review helpful for you? Great product and sound, really wakes the car and neighbor hood up. Has some pretty bad drone in the car at 2,000 RPM and steady at 50 MPH but for us this is not a daily driver so I love it. I've had people stopping me in parking lots to find out what kind of exhaust I had because they loved the way it sounded. If it's your daily driver, I would go for the 50 series flows instead of the 40 series but if you want to turn heads go for this kit. Also at 60-70 MPH it really quiets out so a long trip isn't a problem unless speed limit is 50 the whole way.Was this review helpful for you? YesNo
