For more than 100 years, TRW has provided the industry with innovative solutions. COTEC, an advanced silicate coating, is among the recent innovations of the company. This coating is applied to the friction material of replacement brake pads, resulting in a greatly improved contact between the pad and disc. It allows for stopping a vehicle up to 7 meters quicker compared to other brake pads during the bedding-in period. The company also provided a range of pistons that have long been known for their close tolerances, high quality, and durability. Yet, TRW pistons have been integrated into the Speed Pro PowerForged series (the other brand of Federal Mogul, the parent company of TRW).
