The production of the Saab 9000 began in 1984. During its production run, the model was offered in two options of body style: a four-door sedan and a five-door liftback. The vehicle featured front-wheel drive layout and either a four-speed automatic or a five-speed F25 manual transmission. Only gasoline engines were available for customers: 2.0L I4, 2.0L I4 (turbocharged), 2.3L I4, 2.3L I4 (turbocharged) and 3.0L V6. The production of the 9000 was ceased in 1998 – it was succeeded by the Saab 9-5.
