Ford Ranger Interior Trim

The Ford Ranger sold today looks nothing like the original North American version that appeared in 1983. The pioneering classic Ranger, with its somewhat austere trim, was a compact pickup truck meant to be used as a “tool”, not a “pet”. Four-wheel drive was available, the wheelbase was reasonably short (108-125 in). Various I4 and V6 engine options emerged over the years, eventually becoming more and more powerful. The truck came in four trim levels, namely base, chrome-accented XL, sportier XLS, and the “relatively more luxurious” XLT. The more round-nosed models that emerged after 1993 are different from their predecessors mainly in trim (powertrain changes did occur as well, naturally) – different seats, door trim, instrument panel. Finally, after focusing on safety in the 90's, the Ford Ranger became what you'd even call “jaunty” while maintaining its quality and efficiency.

The Ford Ranger models released after the nineties' facelift feel like the manufacturer finally allowed owners to experiment with trim. The model got stylish enough to encourage further personalization of dash knobs and door panels and whatever else, and the level of durability and efficiency does not suffer a bit from such adjustments.
