After many months of teasing, Mercedes has finally revealed a great number of changes for its GLC Class SUV, one of its best-selling models. 2020 brought a mid-cycle facelift for this small luxury crossover that hit the market in 2015. Besides, the new engine is claimed to be more fuel efficient. Mid-range 2020 Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 models received a bump in power to 385 horses, which is 23 more hp than last year. The mill is the same 3.0 L V6 but fitted with larger turbochargers relocated closer to the engine.

European customers are offered a more complex engine lineup. All models powered by gasoline engines have an EQ boost system that brings 110 more lb. ft. of torque. The base version has about 191 HP, while the GLC 300 4Matic offers up to 251 HP. There is also a line of diesel units now featuring a 2.0 L architecture available. This model year also brings an advanced version of the Dynamic Select system and enhanced 4Matic all-wheel drive. All that together will definitely help the GLC Class to deliver an even better driving experience. The GLC 350e 4MATIC EQ Power hybrid is no exception, which got a bigger, higher-capacity battery which extends the all-electric range. Power for it comes from a combination of a turbo four and an electric motor, which together produce 315 horsepower and 516 lb.-ft.

Powertrain updates aren’t the only changes for this year. On the outside, there are many 2020 Mercedes GLC Class parts and accessories redesigned to bring a fresh look. While the powertrain options remain unchanged, the new Coupe features a refreshed exterior with redesigned front and rear fascias, grille, headlights, along with new luxury leather upholstery on the inside. The MBUX infotainment system is available with a 10.25-inch touchscreen display and 12.3-inch digital instrument panel. Aside from touch controls, it can be operated by voice commands. The 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe becomes much safer thanks to the new Active Brake Assist system that can stop the vehicle if the driver fails to do so in time to avoid a collision.

The GLC 43 got styling refreshments in the form of a new grille design and reshaped lip spoiler up front and a more pronounced diffuser and round tail pipes out back. New, updated versions of the model, GLC63 and GLC63 S Coupe, feature a redesigned grille, sport exhaust, headlights, and tail lights. Both models are available in gray body color and may come equipped with 21-inch alloy wheels. A new “Slippery” drive mode have been added, which can be selected on the AMG steering wheel.
